Change

Life has really changed; and this is a good thing but to others it’s a nightmare. Some of the people have changed with the age while others are still left with the old way of living. There is this term that people normally say, “We are living in the .com era, while our folks lived in the p.o.box era!” wow, that was creative, but we have people who can’t change with the age, which is not a bad thing but can be very tricky at times.
We have positive and negative changes, thus I tend to think a change is a change no matter how small it is, its still change, and people should embrace the changes and choose which changes will suite their lifestyles, other than hiding in one bracket saying that the new Era can be lethal to them. Well many people tend to have the fear of the unknown.
For instances our mode of dressing has really changed, basically u can’t compare the mode of dressing today with what people used to wear in the 80’s, We are having women walking comfortably in bikinis and hot pants while earlier on it was a taboo and such a woman could be a disgrace to the community. Some of these changes are really affecting some of our people thus making it hard for them to adapt.
I went to the supermarket the other day and found out that we have canned food, readymade food in cans, so nowadays u don’t need to go and cook, we have everything ready for us we just warm with the microwave or heat with the cooking gas. Wow that’s a plus for some people, but earlier on we used to get raw food from the shamba n we used to cook with a jiko or a ‘stove’. It was kinda fun but now things are simplified for us.
For instance most of the machines that we use today i.e. computers, coffee makers, ATM’s, just to name but afew have been updated thus they make our work easier,  so a person might have problems using this Machines if he has no experience with them
A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, I think change is good thus, All what we can do is pray the serenity prayer. God grant me the serenity to change the things that I cannot change, knowledge to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.
